Yet despite the multiple reports of Trump’s sexual attraction towards his daughter Ivanka, conservative Christians stand by their incestuous president.

    Why?

Perhaps they stand by Trump because incest is Biblical. In fact, there are numerous examples of incest in the Bible:

The most commonly thought-of examples are the sons/daughters of Adam and Eve (Genesis 4), Abraham marrying his half-sister Sarah (Genesis 20:12), Lot and his daughters (Genesis 19), Moses’ father Amram who married his aunt Jochebed (Exodus 6:20), and David’s son Amnon with his half-sister Tamar (2 Samuel 13).

Bottom line: Conservative Christians have no problem with Trump’s well documented record of publicly and privately declaring his sexual attraction for his daughter Ivanka. After all, if the racism, the misogyny, the bullying, the dishonesty, and the greed does not offend conservative Christians, why should a little incest?

It seems like just yesterday that right-wing commentator and expert provocateur Ann Coulter hit the circuit in support of her Donald Trump-lovin’ best-seller, “In Trump We Trust: E Pluribus Awesome!”

    So what’s happened since then?

‘I knew he was a shallow, lazy ignoramus, and I didn’t care.’

That’s her response to a question she was asked at a Columbia University event Tuesday night about whether she feels like “a total idiot” for backing Donald Trump during his campaign, according to the Daily Beast.

Why Donald Trump Hasn’t Lost His Core Fanbase Yet

Cognitive biases rise up to bite us at the worst times, don’t they? Often we feel like others will agree with us once they know what we know. Further, many of us assume that others share our way of looking at the world. And then we have to learn the hard way that neither of those assumptions are true when it comes to terrible people. Today Lord Snow Presides over why Donald Trump hasn’t lost his popularity with fundagelicals.

    Altered States.
Cognitive biases are quirks in human thinking that help us get through our days with as little fuss as possible. These mental shortcuts and quick-categorization tricks happen behind the scenes without us even knowing they did–and they help us maintain group cohesion, recognize patterns and act upon them, and make snap decisions. However, they also lead us to a lot of incorrect conclusions and drama.

Anybody can fall prey to a cognitive bias. They’re about as universal to the human situation and experience as anything ever could be. As woke as someone might think they are, they’ll always have to watch out for them. Hell, one reason why the scientific method is so powerful is that it helps us to eliminate those biases to find explanations for why the world looks and works the way it does.

No wonder fundagelicals hate the scientific method as much as they do. Look at the full list of cognitive biases. Tell me it doesn’t look exactly like a recipe for a fundagelical!

So a lot of folks–like even me sometimes–think that if we can only make a given fundagelical understand something, we’ll gain their agreement. We think that if we can only present our case in a rational, easy-to-grasp way, then they’ll totally change their minds. We assume that they only believe incorrect things because they don’t know what we know. We assume that everyone values accurate information as much as we do.

“When your boss is being threatened like that everybody should want an employee like this.” Michael Cohen's attorney, David Schwartz, says of Cohen’s message to “Daily Beast” reporter Tim Mak in 2015

The “Today” show conversation continued with Schwartz saying that Cohen had never threatened anyone, specifically former adult film star Stormy Daniels; that Cohen “doesn’t do that”; and that if he were going to do that, “he does it to someone’s face.”

Daniels, who took hush money in 2016 to hide an alleged affair with Donald Trump a decade earlier, claims that Cohen ordered a threat against her in a Las Vegas parking lot in 2011.

Schwartz insisted, “He would never do something like that.”

Kelly fired back that “Michael Cohen does have a history of making vulgar and allegedly or arguably threatening comments.”

“I myself have been on the receiving end of those, as you know,” said Kelly.

She then pointed to one instance, after a 2016 election debate, in which Cohen retweeted a series of threatening messages ― one of which included a call to “gut” Kelly.

“So you’re not Michael’s favorite person,” said Schwartz. “It’s not a love connection, OK, so all right.”

David Shulkin: Sacked secretary in parting shot at Trump

US Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin has fired a parting shot at the White House a day after being fired by President Donald Trump.

In a scathing column for the New York Times, Mr Shulkin wrote: "As I prepare to leave government, I am struck by a recurring thought: It should not be this hard to serve your country."

He said that in recent months "the environment in Washington has turned so toxic, chaotic, disrespectful and subversive that it became impossible for me to accomplish the important work that our veterans need and deserve".

The former hospital administrator, who first served under President Barack Obama, said that "advocates within the administration for privatising" veterans' healthcare services "saw me as an obstacle to privatisation who had to be removed".

It is traditional for departing cabinet secretaries to thank the president for granting them the opportunity to serve, but Mr Shulkin pointedly made no reference to Mr Trump.

The Troubling Connections between Scientology and the Nation of Islam
    By BETHANY MANDEL
    April 2, 2018 6:30 AM

The leaders of the Nation of Islam are active members of Scientology, and they are pocketing commissions in exchange for urging NOI member to practice Scientology alongside Islam. In turn, the Nation of Islam has access to the power that Scientology wields, including its vast real-estate holdings and the infrastructure it uses to attack its defectors and opponents. The comingling of these two organizations, troubling and powerful in their own ways individually, should send a chill down our spines.

I shouldn't have worried. She's great. When it's my turn to talk to her, I ask if she would mind taking a photo with a prop that I’ve brought with me, and then I whip out a box of mini corn dogs. Responding to a fan who'd asked what they should snack on during her 60 Minutes appearance, Stormy had recently tweeted in a way that implied the Presidential Pecker was the size of a mini corn dog:When she sees the box she understands my intention instantly. She laughs and throws her head back and says, “You read my Twitter!” before raising an eyebrow in a mock “You know what I’m sayin’?” gesture. Doesn't she know everyone reads her Twitter? https://www.riverfronttimes.com/arts...as-magnificent
